The Valley of the Moon is a tourist attraction in Atacama, Chile, located in the Salt Mt. Range, which resembles the surface of the moon.

Framed in a landscape of solitary beauty, they are the prize you earn after traveling 95 kms from the town of San Pedro de Atacama to an altitude of 4,000 meters above sea level in the Andes.

The biggest salt flats in Chile, covering an area of more than 3,000 km2. The air is extraordinarily dry, which makes it perfectly transparent. This makes it easy to see the other end of the salt flat, 70 kms away, but it is hard to judge distances here because of the unusually clear air.
